Profile

Stephen Wilson

Stephen’s passion for sports started as a young boy when he lived in Anchorage Alaska and spent much of his time outdoors cycling, running and snowboarding. He later played basketball, soccer, and football. In 2007 an automobile accident resulted in a spinal cord injury at the L-1 level. Initial devastation turned to a focus on physical therapy to regain independence. Stephen relocated to Los Angeles where he found a spinal cord injury specific rehab clinic and enrolled in El Camino College where he majored in Mechanical Engineering and maintained a 3.7 GPA leading to admission to USC. His interest in engineering and spinal cord injury led to an appointment as an ambassador for ARGO, a medical technology company where he is working on an exoskeleton design. Post-graduation Stephen hopes to make adaptive devices for persons with disabilities.
