Drew was a sixteen-year-old gymnast in Tucson, Arizona when he over rotated on a front flip and broke his neck, becoming a quadriplegic. Since then, Drew has thrived despite his disability. He graduated with his high school class and then with Swim With Mike’s help, graduated with honors in four years from the University of Arizona in 2012. After graduation, Drew went on to work two jobs and live independently in his own home. He organized local Swim With Mike fundraisers both during and after his undergrad. He is studying disability law at the University of Arizona.
