Andrew Ouellette

Growing up Andrew tried about every sport imaginable, ultimately focusing on lacrosse which was his best and favorite sport. He was selected varsity team captain junior and senior years at East High School. Andrew excelled in the classroom, with a particular talent for graphic design. He spent summers lifeguarding at the local pool, once using those skills at a Colorado mountain lake where he jumped in to help an injured adult. On track to attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2016, Andrew’s plans changed July 3, 2016, when he dove under a wave in Mexico, hit a sandbar, and sustained a spinal cord injury. Andrew was fortunate to be revived on the beach and quickly transferred back to Denver. After three weeks in the ICU Andrew spent months completing rehabilitation at Craig Hospital. As he gained strength and independence, Andrew decided to get on with college plans but opted to stay closer to home than Cal Poly. He was admitted to the University of Colorado in Boulder to pursue an undergraduate business degree in marketing with hopes of using his graphic design talents. Andrew completed his bachelor's degree in Spring 2021.
