Ann Yoshida

Ann Hamanalau Yoshida, a graduate from Mililani High School completed a B.S. in Speech Pathology and Audiology at the University of Hawaii and began graduate studies at Utah State University in Rehabilitation Counseling/MRC in the fall of 2008. Other than experience and wisdom, her life has not really changed since her accident which left her paraplegic. Ann is discovering her potential through surfing, racing, tennis, kayaking, swimming, skiing, and other sports that she enjoyed prior to her accident. After graduation from Utah State University in December of 2009, Ann completed her internship and hopes to go on to complete her Ph.D. and move back to Hawaii to pursue her mission of helping others realize their potential and integrate fully into society. Ann strongly believes in giving back to the community so she will be volunteering her time to her mission. Ann is constantly competing against her times and ability. She competed in the Duke Kahanamoku Festival in surfing, won her division in the Odgen half marathon competed Salt Lake City Marathon and continues to challenge herself.
