Collin Bosse

"My physical limitations have strengthened my understanding of the power physical activity has in the lives of those with disabilities."

An all-around athlete, Collin grew up playing club water polo and lacrosse, and continued those sports in high school, adding surfing to his team pursuits, for which he was named team captain. After graduating from San Diego State in 2022 with a BS in Business Management, Collin went to work as a business development rep at a San Diego software company that provides real estate data management. His philanthropic outreach included Project Save Our Surf and Hugs for Cubs in Santa Barbara, among others.

In April 2023,a diving accident in Mission Bay caused a C5/C6 break and quadriplegia. Spending countless hours in physical and occupational therapy, he has found a new source of strength in the friends, family and “the stranger doing therapy next to me,” who have taught him to celebrate the “small” victories.  Those victories include putting on a shirt, standing with assistance for 30 minutes and eating a burrito on his own. He hopes to break the mold of what disabled people can accomplish and demonstrate that the “small” wins can be achieved with determination and community.

Collin is returning to school to get an MBA at University of San Diego to help him further his goal and desire is to make a meaningful difference in the lives of his peers.
