Joey Pulford
oey was the avid, all-around waterman. Whether it was CIF level swim team and waterpolo in highschool, or surfing and outrigger paddling in the South Bay, he grew up and loved being in the ocean and the pool. A tragic beach accident in July of 2000, when Joey was only 16, changed his entire life in an instant. He overcame fourteen weeks of intensive rehabilitation, to finish out highschool on time with the rest of his classmates, and was awarded a full scholarship to attend USC through Swim with Mike. Joey changed fields from Architecture to Urban Planning, has since graduated twice, and continues his education in pursuit of a legal degree just up the street from campus. He holds a patent for a medical device, has owned and operated two successful businesses, operates as a disability and business start-up consultant, web-designer, and graphic artist, and has shown no signs of slowing down. Joey is always looking for that next great opportunity to shine, and it couldn’t have been without the support of his family, Swim with Mike, and his fellow Trojans.
