Zachary graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Systems Engineering in May of 2017. He was immediately offered a Manufacturing Analyst position at SC Johnson in Racine, Wisconsin. A month later while on an annual camping trip with a group of high school friends, he dove into a lake and hit the bottom resulting in a traumatic spinal cord injury and paralysis from the chest down. In high school, Zach was a member of the cross country, basketball and track and field teams and was captain of all three teams. His athletic mentality helped him immensely in his rehabilitation stay at Craig Hospital where he spent 6-8 hours doing therapy each day. Having spent so much time in a hospital setting, he realized that manufacturing was no longer a passion of his; instead it was health care.Zach is now extremely passionate to be a part of others’ recoveries and to provide them with an optimistic healthcare setting, just as he received. To help positively impact others who are going through similar situations, he completed an MBA in 2021 with aspirations to work in health care.
